The Mk. 2 version introduces several upgrades over the original model, including a more powerful motor, improved speed control, and enhanced guides.
- Motor & Speed Control: Features a more powerful, load-sensing motor and a 7-speed electronic control with an LED display, allowing for precise speed selection for different tasks, from delicate Japanese knives to heavy-duty tools.
- Sharpening Angles: Offers a wide range of adjustable sharpening angles, from 15° to 30° using the standard guide cassette, and an even wider range of 10° to 35° with the Blade Grinding Attachment. Angle adjustments use a "click control" system for repeatable 0.5-degree changes.

Dual Sharpening Methods: The kit provides two main methods:
- Sharpening Guide Cassette: For precise, repeatable results on kitchen knives, pocket knives, scissors, and garden tools.
- Blade Grinding Attachment (BGA): For freehand grinding, blade re-profiling, and creating different convex edge profiles (low, medium, and high) using a movable pulley system.
- Abrasive Belts: Uses flexible abrasive belts to create a superior, long-lasting convex edge. The Elite version includes two full belt kits (3/4" x 12" and 1" x 18") with grits ranging from P120 (extra coarse) to 12000 (extra fine stropping belt with compound).
